When I get triggered or act out of my higher self, it would be easy for me to jump straight to shame or guilt because ‘I am this spiritual person.’ I’ve realized that this is my ego trying to define a box for me to not jump out of. The triggers and these moments of separation are on the path for a reason, giving us opportunities to deeply explore our emotions, beliefs and perspectives. If we never experienced darkness, we wouldn’t be able to experience the light. The healing takes place in this life experience not just one time and not just a few journal prompts, and BOOM! healed. Our souls deepest desire is to reveal the essence of you – that is what healing is. This happens through time, experience and understanding.
In this process, we’ll dive into the healing process – the truth:
- The definition and meaning of healing
- how our ego distorts healing
- 5 ways to allow healing in your life

What is Healing really?
Healing is a nonlinear process – unraveling who you are NOT to reveal the essence of you. This process will look different for everyone. However, there are some common themes in the process such as self forgiveness, self acceptance, self trust, openness and unconditional love. Often in the spiritual community, there has been a misconception on the concept of healing. That healing is ‘doing’ – journal prompts, meditation, vision boards, affirmations, mirror work and the list goes on. This is the ego, wanting to control the action to bring in the results. Healing is in the being, being with yourself, being silent, no longer running away from emotions, vulnerability and acceptance of all of you. This is your matured ego and higher self leading the way for you to experience inner peace.
To heal your inner world, there must become a such as strong sense of inner knowing and peace that the outside world can no longer shake – through ‘shaking’ your emotions. The need to have an emotional response to something will become less appealing to your ego because your internal values are different. Now you begin to value peace, harmony and love within. I’ve found that making peace with the past versions of ourselves, sets our soul free. You begin this process by becoming willing to go through the layers of your mind encountering your emotions, triggers, beliefs and perspectives – even the part you hide from yourself.
The Ego Distortion
The subconscious mind mirrors into our world. This profound influence follows the laws of physics that ‘all is frequency’ and ‘like attracts like.’ This space in the mind carries our deeply rooted beliefs, fears, childhood experiences, desires, personal truths. Here is where we can hind aspects of our mind’s consciousness from ourselves. Quite literally, there are aspects that parts of you don’t want YOU to know. That is where our quantum tools come in – simple tools to show yourself, others and the greater universe love.
The ego is the part of you that works to keep you safe. Think of it personified as an overprotective sibling or super cautious crossing guard for kids after school, it can feel threatened when your sense of self being ‘impinged’ upon. Wherever the lines of ‘yourself’ – self identity – is drawn that’s where your ego is. The lines of who you are, what your morals are, why you do what you do, who you present yourself to be – dictate what you are aware of. But there are lines and boundaries that keep away what you may not want to be true about yourself even though they are. I call this consciousness blindspots. These are where you keep your secret smoking habits, secret lover, yet nothing is truly secret, if it has happend the subconscious mind made a record. There is both an individual and collective mind so nothing is ever truly secret. To dive a bit more into the ego distortion, I highly recommend Teal Swan’s video on parts work that can help bridge together the various aspects of yourself.

4 ways to Authentically Heal
There is no cookie cutter approach to heal – just like there is no cookie cutter approach to live. Healing is a deeply personal process – we’ve come into this life with soul contracts and subconscious intentions that only we are here to discover. While I’ll share some ways that myself and clients have reduced fear and increased joy in their daily life.
1. Stillness – Meditative Practice
There is power in stillness. Simply put, meditation is being ALL here – in the now moment. Stillness awakens aspects of your mind that you aren’t always aware of. This active practice of awareness creates space between the true you and your emotions, thoughts, experiences and desires.
Here is my Timeless Tea Meditation: Begin by brewing a cup of tea. Smelling and expressing gratitude for the tea. Placing your tea leaves or tea bag into your favorite cup. The cup that makes you grateful to experience taste. Steep your tea. Stir the tea.. and watch the water dance. Bring your attention to your breath. Connect with the tea – it holds the sunshine, the rain, the joy of harvesters, the toil of farmers, the clouds. Witness the universe in a cup. Be still. Be here. Be now.
2. Flow based Activity: Running, Yoga, Snowboarding, Knitting
What is the activity that makes you feel as if there is no time? Every time you engage in this activity, it is like time passes so quickly. Whatever comes to mind. Do that more, your mind, body and spirit are connected when you do that thing! The flow state is the experience of complete total alignment as a state of being. Joseph Rodriguez shares a lot about this state of being from the lens of flowing from your vision.
When you feel one with all of the universe but simultaneously feel connected to yourself. Flow State is ultimate Source mode. In this state, feelings of oneness, heightened intuition, and deep creativity, showcase the deep inter-connection to something larger than ourselves. At this high vibratory state, there is a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment, as you open to the moment by tapping into your inner resources and passions. Allow higher self to show you deeper understanding of yourself and the place you hold in the universe.
3. Write.
Writing is such a therapeutic practice because it is an action that causes a state of release. You can use journal prompts, shadow work questions, creative templates, inner healing workbooks, The simple act of writing can be meditative to deepen sense of awareness. Putting thoughts on paper allows for deeper reflection. Inner chaos can cloud your mind so writing helps you clarify emotions, beliefs, and experiences.
